High-Performance Wear-Resistant PAEK Compounds | Sinoright

Polyaryletherketone (PAEK) specialty engineering plastics are known for their inherent wear resistance. They are frequently chosen for moving parts in mechanical equipment, such as bearing cages, sliding bearings, and seals.

However, surface wear inevitably occurs when these plastics contact metals or resins. To combat this, Sinoright adds specific additives during modification to lower the friction coefficient and significantly boost wear resistance.

After years of R&D and market feedback, Sinoright has developed multiple wear-resistant grades tailored for specific industrial applications.

1. SG01JY300: For Submerged Pump Bearings & Reciprocating Pump Parts

The SG01JY300 grade features a carbon fiber and polymer matrix melt-compounded into a robust network structure. This design allows the material to bear heavy loads while the fibers enhance strength, self-lubrication, and wear resistance.

Key Advantages:

  • Low Friction: Features a sliding friction coefficient of just 0.238.
  • Self-Correction: The material's surface elasticity compensates for poor mating fits.
  • Embeddability: It allows hard particles to embed into the surface, preventing scratching or abrasive wear on mating parts.
  • Durability: Excellent ductility helps absorb shock and vibration.
  • Stability: The material is non-hygroscopic (does not absorb water) and does not swell in oil.

2. SG01JY334: For Compressor Labyrinth Seals & Multistage Pump Rings

SG01JY334 is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and highly wear-resistant. Its exceptional self-lubricating properties improve mechanical stability, reduce noise, and optimize the operating environment.

Key Advantages:

  • Perfect Fit (Run-in Capability): Due to its abradable nature, the material self-adjusts against the shaft after a short run-in period. This creates an ideal, minimal gap.
  • High Efficiency: The tighter seal reduces medium leakage and lowers energy consumption.
  • Cost-Effective: Extends component service life, increases production uptime, and significantly lowers routine maintenance costs.

3. SG01JY410: For Star Wheels & Semi-Open Impellers

Standard PEEK star wheels often deform and wear under high temperatures and pressures. Conversely, steel star wheels have high thermal expansion, requiring large clearance gaps that lead to leakage, low efficiency, or even seizing (locking up). Furthermore, standard PEEK lacks the shear strength to withstand rigorous operation, leading to frequent breakage and high maintenance costs.

Sinoright developed SG01JY410 specifically to solve these issues, replacing traditional carbon-fiber-reinforced PEEK.

Key Advantages:

  • High Strength: Superior load-bearing capacity and resistance to shear forces.
  • Dimensional Stability: Extremely low expansion coefficient ensures precise operation.
  • Reliability: Eliminates the seizing risks of steel and the fragility of standard PEEK.
  • Market Proven: Currently recognized and adopted by leading manufacturers for its superior wear resistance.
